Tips, Tricks & Product News - How to add wainscot

Wainscot, is a decorative accent, that is usually made up of decorative boards or panels that extend partway up a wall. This also adds a protective feature to the walls.

This will make a room more visually appealing, by making the ceiling seem lower. Typically wainscot is made from wood, or wood paneling.

Punch will allow you to add 2 materials, to the same wall.

Example: Brick on the bottom of the wall, and siding on the top.

Or

Wood paneling on the bottom of the wall, and paint to the top.

Let's get started, and show you a few examples.

Open your 3D view and go into the room where you want to add your wainscot.
Open the Trim library and select “Wainscot”
Drag the Wainscot to the wall in the 3D view.

At this point we can add a separate paint color to the top, and a different material to the bottom of the wall.

Here we are working on the outside of the house. We added the wainscot to the wall, and then we added  siding to the top, and brick to the bottom.

To remove the wainscot from the wall, simply drag the “Remove trim” icon over onto the wall in the 3D view.
