Tip #1 to a Perfect Home Design - Punch! Software QuickStart

Punch! Home Design Software titles introduce dozens of new features and enhancements for the user to have the ultimate experience to designing their dream home. ‘Tip #1 to a Perfect Home Design - Punch! Software QuickStart’ is the first in the ‘Tips for Punch! Software Home Design Software’ series. Let’s step into the guide to using QuickStart.

When we start a new Punch! Software project, the first screen shows a sketch phase called QuickStart. This feature is the equivalent of a napkin sketch of the layout of your new project, created by adding the different rooms on the right panel. To take full advantage of this option, create the desired layout and apply the available settings. Notice that some items in the menu are disabled in this first stage (for example, the items outlined in green) because they are defined in the following phase. After you are done, review all the parameters and click Continue (outlined in aqua color in the image below) to proceed to the project stage of your design.

In QuickStart mode, we can adjust the settings of several elements. This is important, because in order to design a perfect project in 2D and 3D, some parameters must be defined in advance.

Among the most important parameters are the definition of the heights and elevations. You can define the number of floors, their heights and elevations from the ground, slab thickness, etc. using the New Project Setup screen, at the beginning of the session. The Floor button (outlined in blue in the image below) allows the addition of more levels as well as individual floor adjustments.

The Design Options menu (Main Menu => Design) is used to define different settings, including the units, scale, lot properties, etc.
